Operation Christmas Child is an undertaking organised by Samaritan's Purse International to bring gifts at Christmas to underprivileged children in other parts of the world, to show them something of the love of Christ.  It involves packing shoeboxes with all manner of gifts which are then transported out to the children by lorries.

At St David's we have supported OCC for several years.  Last year we collected 158 boxes - including 38 from St David's School - and they were delivered to the local OCC depot immediately afterwards.  This year the boxes are being collected on Sunday November 19th at the Family Service.

The annual Moreton Show takes place on the first Saturday in September, at the Showground on the Batsford Road.  One of the country’s biggest one-day agricultural shows it has something for everyone to see, do, taste and buy. That’s its appeal and what organisers pride themselves on providing. There are hundreds of trade stands showing or selling everything, from Combine Harvesters to Wellington boots and the very best locally produced food. All day, too, there is thrilling entertainment in the Grand Arena and Attractions Ring. Amongst the attractions this last year were the Dancing Diggers, Falconry Display, Terrier Racing, Vintage Tractors, Dancing, Storytelling, Dancing Sheep, Circus Skills, Children and Pony Fancy Dress, and much, much more!

During the day St David's helps to run a tent on behalf of the North Cotswolds Deanery - it is called the Church Tent.  We serve coffee, tea and cakes throughout the day, and aim to let people know about many of the activities of the different churches in the area.  Come and join us, if you can!  And any offers of help are gratefully received - ring the Office on 652359.  And we try to let people know the exact location of the Tent, so check here for details.
